GEORGE TOWN: Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas visited Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah at the Penang Hospital here today.

Rahman arrived at the hospital’s intensive care unit at 12.25pm.

He spent 10 minutes with the menteri besar.

Bashah is recuperating from an intestinal surgery on Monday. The menteri besar was transferred from the Kedah Medical Centre to Penang about 2.30pm that same day.

He underwent a minor surgical procedure over the intestinal complication. The surgery took about six hours from 10pm to 3am.

It is learnt that Bashah had attended a meeting with Barisan Nasional (BN) state assemblymen at the Grand Alora Hotel at 7pm last Saturday, when he complained of lightheadedness and exhaustion.

He was rushed to the Kedah Medical Centre about 7.15pm and was admitted to the ICU at 7.45pm that same day. -nst
