Datuk among eight charged with being members of Geng 21 Japan

JOHOR BARU: Eight men, including a Datuk, were charged in the Johor Baru Magistrate’s Court here today with being members of an organised criminal group, Geng 21 Japan.

The eight men included K. Elumalai, 42, believed to be a Datuk and the leader of the gang, which was active between January 2015 and August 2015.

The other members were K. Puvendran, 28; K. Kishok, 25; R. Ganabathy, 30; R. Shamuga Nathan, 37; S. Jeeva, 26; M. Suresh, 39; and S. Rajandran, 39.

The men were charged under Section 130V of the Penal Code for being members of an organised criminal group.

Johor Baru magistrate Mohd Azlan Shah Mohd Alias fixed August 24 as the mention date for the case to be transferred to the Johor Baru High Court.-nst
