(Football) Harimau Malaysia has no game plan, says disappointed Khairy

PUTRAJAYA: The national football squad has yet to formulate a game plan needed to win the AFF Cup in November, said Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

Khairy said this in response to Malaysia’s 0-0 draw with Singapore in the Causeway Challenge at the Singapore National Stadium on Friday night.

“National coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee made a lot of changes, which made the game not as interesting as it could have been.

“Even though we did not lose, Singapore had possession of the ball and dominated the match.

“I think we were lucky because despite several attempts for a goal by the Singapore squad, we were saved by our goalkeeper (Khairul Azhan) and pure chance,” he told reporters after the launch of the National Sports Day here today.

Khairy said he hopes to see better tactical play by Harimau Malaysia come the AFF Cup.
