KUALA LUMPUR: A man is believed to have jumped to his death at the Mid Valley Megamall shopping complex last night. The 22-year-old man is believed to have leapt from the mall’s car park.

His lifeless body was found sprawled near the mall entrance around 11.30pm. Preliminary investigations suggest that the man had gone to the mall with his brother.

Their car was parked at the fourth floor of the multi-level carpark. Brickfields district police chief Assistant Commissioner Sharul Othman Mansor said that after getting out their car, the man told his elder brother that he wanted to buy a few items.

“The elder brother waited in the car. While waiting, he received an SMS from his younger brother.

“In the message, the younger brother said he wanted to kill himself and wanted to say goodbye,” said Sharul Othman.

Sharul said the victim died at the scene. His body was brought to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre.
