SEREMBAN: A total of 936 illegal construction workers were arrested in an integrated operation led by the Negeri Sembilan Immigration Department at construction sites in Jimah, Port Dickson near here yesterday.

Negeri Sembilan Immigration director Hapdzan Husaini said those detained, aged between 20 and 50, comprised 767 Bangladeshi nationals, as well as Pakistanis (80), Indians (50), Indonesians (22), Sri Lankans (13), Myanmar (three) and Nepalese (one).

They were detained for various offences, including falsifying travel documents and overstaying in the country, he said in a statement. — Bernama
