Klang couple killed in hit-and-run accident, boy injured

KLANG: A couple, engaged to be married in Feb, were killed in a hit-and-run accident at Jalan Pelabuhan Barat here, early today.

Arifshah Lingam Munandy, 39, and his girlfriend, Nor Aishah Abdullah, 35, died on the spot when the motorcycle they were riding was rear-ended by a motorist who fled the scene at 4.40am.

Arifshah and Nor Aishah succumbed to serious head injuries. Klang Selatan police chief ACP Alzafny Ahmad said Nur Aishah’s five-year-old son, who was also riding pillion, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital.

The trio had been heading towards Shah Alam. Arifshah’s, M. Parameswary, 40, said her brother converted to Islam two years ago and had planned to marry Nor Aishah in early Feb.

The boy is Nor Aishah’s son from her previous marriage, she said.

“Nor Aishah’s house was near my brother’s house in Pandamaran. When the incident occurred, they were on their way to work in Bandar Puteri.

My sister babysits the boy when they go to work,” she said when met at the hospital. Parameswary appealed to witnesses to come forward and assist police in the investigation. — BERNAMA
