GEORGE TOWN: A man was left stranded in the air for 15 minutes after a ride, called ‘Vortex’, came to a halt at an annual state fair in Sungai Nibong last night.

The malfunction occurred when the man boarded the ride at the Pesta Pulau Pinang at 9pm.

Fair organiser said workers had to manually lowered the steel structure to the ground to rescue the stranded man.

No injury was reported in the incident and the cause behind the malfunction is still being investigated.-nst
