Najib offer condolences to family of late Dr Kamarudin Kachar

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Razak has expressed his condolences to the family of former National Chief Scout Commissioner Col Prof Datuk Seri Dr Kamarudin Kachar who died yesterday.

“Condolences to the family of Dr Kamaruddin Kachar on his demise. His has been a great contribution. May Allah bless his soul. Al-Fatihah,” said the prime minister in a post today on his Twitter account.

Dr Kamarudin died at 8.40pm while undergoing treatment at the National Heart Institute where he was admitted two weeks ago.He was 83.

The president of the World Malay-Polynesian Organisation and former vice-chancellor of Universiti Selangor leaves behind wife Datin Seri Che Tom Osman, 80, and four children.

He had also been the dean of the Faculty of Educational Studies at Universiti Putra Malaysia, deputy vice-chancellor and acting vice-chancellor of UPM and director-general of the National Civics Bureau. — Bernama
