Four detained over fatal stabbing at Mont Kiara nightclub

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested four men to facilitate an investigation into a scuffle at a night club in Mont Kiara yesterday, which led to the death of a 22-year-old man.

City Criminal Investigations Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Rusdi Mohd Isa said the suspects were arrested in a follow-up operation.

“We have arrested four men, aged between 21 and 22, in Kajang. “Several suspects are still at large,” he said when contacted.

Rusdi said police are still trying to establish the motive behind the attack.

Yesterday, the 22-year-old man was stabbed and later succumbed to his injuries in a pre-dawn fight at a night club in Mont Kiara.

It was learnt that the victim, along with two friends known as Ah Chai and Rubben, went to the entertainment centre at 3am.

While they were dancing, the victim accidentally knocked into a man at a nearby table and a fight ensued.

Witnesses claim the victim was attacked by at least 20 people.

Amidst the brawl, the 22-year-old was stabbed in his chest, while his friend Ah Chai sustained injuries on his chest and the right side of his head.

The victim and Ah Chai were then rushed to hospital, but the victim was pronounced dead at 9.30am.-nst
