No talk with DAP but willing to consider PPBM: Hadi

MARANG: Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang today said the party has shut its door for any possible cooperation with DAP in future because it had not shown any proof of supports for the party’s Islamic cause.

He said the decision was made as a matter of principal because DAP was still against Islam and the formation of an Islamic government which had been the core of Pas’ struggle.

“DAP showed its true colours to the Muslims in Penang. It failed to look after the interests of the people in Penang although it had one term to do so,” he told reporters after his kuliah session at the Rusila mosque today.

“We (Pas) are not just talking about winning the general elections but we want to bring about changes. Our agenda (DAP and Pas) is different,” he added.

Hadi was responding to DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siangs’s recent statement in which he expressed willingness to work with Hadi as the latter was ready to commit to saving Malaysia from becoming a ‘global kleptocracy’.

On cooperation with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, Hadi said that the former prime minister had been inconsistent in making public statements but Pas was willing to hold discussions.

“We can talk. This is a democratic country,” he added.
