KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has expressed his appreciation to all parties that contributed to aid operations and maintaining safety and security during the east coast floods.

He said they include the Civil Defence Force, the National Disaster Management Agency, the police, the Fire and Rescue Department, the army, the People’s Volunteer Corps (RELA) and volunteers.

“Thank God, the overall flood management was smooth, and we will ensure that flood recovery will also be smooth, for the benefit of everyone.

“What had touched me most during my recent visit to Kelantan and Terengganu was the opportunity to meet with flood victims and to hear their grouses.

“God willing, we will channel aid according to what they need,” he said in his latest Facebook posting.

On Saturday, Najib spent a whole day in Kelantan and Terengganu, inspecting flooded areas and visiting evacuees at relief centres.-nst
