KOTA KINABALU: An administrative assistant from the Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) here has been arrested for allegedly soliciting a bribe from a woman.

Sabah Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Director Datuk Shaharom Nizam Abd Manap said the 37-year-old man was nabbed during a sting operation at about 10.26am Wednesday.

The woman, a 50-year-old bus operator, informed the MACC that the suspect called her at about 11am on Jan 9, asking for RM1,290 to help process an interim stage bus support fund, which is claimed by bus operators from the CVLB for services rendered.

“He was arrested when he received the money from her,” said Shaharom.-thestar
