North Korean Embassy employee lashes out at media

KUALA LUMPUR: A commotion broke out at the North Korean Embassy here when an embassy vehicle hit against a cameraman’s equipment on Sunday afternoon.

The black Mercedes-Benz hit the equipment as it reversed out of the embassy, breaking the car’s right side mirror.

The cameraman was not injured in the incident.

The embassy employee exited his vehicle and began shouting at the media personnel crowding around his vehicle, and asked who had broken his mirror.

He then adjusted his mirror back in place, and left, ignoring all questions directed at him.

In the heat of the moment, a local photographer was heard shouting “hey don’t push” at the aggressive throng of around 20 reporters and camera people.

The embassy car was seen returning about an hour later, its side-view mirror appeared repaired.

The embassy has been the at centre of media attention ever since the news of Kim Jong-nam’s assassination broke out.

On Feb 13, Jong-nam, who is the half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, was killed by two women, who poisoned him at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 while waiting for a flight to Macau.-thestar
