KOTA BARU: The Kelantan government has heaped praises on the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for taking swift action in investigating Mara and Pelaburan Mara Bhd chairman Tan Sri Annuar Musa, currently under suspicion of allegedly using his position for the Kelantan football team sponsorship.

Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah who is also Pas vice-president said the action proved that the government was taking more effort to clean-up its image.

“There may be internal conflicts with these issues and hopefully, they can be solved wisely,” he told reporters after the state exco meeting here today.

Amar was commenting on today’s report that MACC has started investigation into allegations of misappropriation and abuse of power against Annuar.

The Mara board had also asked Annuar to go on leave until an investigation by Mara’s internal audit was completed.-nst
