TAWAU: Six bodies, believed to be victims of a boat which capsized in Tinangat waters, were found off Sebatik Island in Indonesia this morning.
The remains were discovered by Indonesia’s Badan SAR Nasional (Basarnas), which has been conducting a search and rescue (SAR) operation in the country’s waters.
The bodies are said to be of a man, two women and three young boys.
The deceased were handed over to the Indonesian authorities for further action. A Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) source confirmed the findings.
On Tuesday at 6pm, a boat carrying 15 passengers, including a skipper, capsized after hitting rough waves.
Thirteen, including the skipper, are reported missing, while two people – a couple – swam to safety.
