South Korea says it is ‘sure’ N. Korea behind Jong-nam killing

KUALA LUMPUR: South Korea today said that it is certain that its northern neighbour was behind the killing of Kim Jong-nam.

South Korea’s Ministry of Unification in a statement via its official website today, said that although the final investigation report has yet to come, it is sure that the man who died after being attacked at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 last week was the exiled half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, based on a wide range of information and circumstances.

“Considering five suspects are North Korean nationals, it is believed that the North Korean regime is behind this incident,” read the statement from the ministry.

“The R.O.K. (South Korean) government and the international society express grave concern and are keeping a close eye on this reckless and brutal case, noting that the North has committed crimes against humanity and acts of terror,” it added.-nst
