KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman recorded its highest drug bust of the year with the seizure of some RM50mil worth of Erimin 5 pills.
Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said 10 men were arrested following raids by the Special Tactical Intelligence Narcotics Group (STING) in the city and Selangor on March 8.
“The syndicate brought in the drugs in a container through Port Klang. The drugs were imported from Taiwan.
“We believe they have been in operation for some time, ” he told a press conference on Friday.
He added that police also seized some RM900,000 in various foreign currencies.
“We also seized several cars belonging to the syndicate, ” he said.
Initial investigations revealed that the drugs were meant for the local market as well as Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia.-thestar
