BALIK PULAU: The bodies of a woman and a girl believed to be her daughter were found washed ashore in Teluk Bahang here.

They were tied together at the waist with raffia string.

The woman, believed to be in her 30s, and her daughter, aged about two, were fully clothed.

A swimmer came across the bodies at about 6pm yesterday near some rocks and contacted the police.

The woman was found lying face up with the child on top of her.

The bodies have been sent to Balik Pulau Hospital for a post-mortem.

OCPD Supt Anuar Omar said the bodies had yet to be identified, adding that they were trying to determine if the two were reported missing earlier.-thestar
