BUKIT MERTAJAM: A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed during an accident on Jalan Besar in Simpang Ampat here.

Factory worker Mohamad Imran Mohd Sukri was riding from Simpang Ampat to Permatang Tinggi when he collided head on with an MPV from the opposite direction at around 3am on Saturday.

Mohamad Imran was killed on the spot while the driver and passengers of the MPV did not sustain any injuries. However, the car was badly damaged in the front.

South Seberang Prai district police chief Supt Shafee Abdul Samad (pic) confirmed the incident and said police are investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.-thestar
