Hadi, Tuan Ibrahim retain PAS leadership posts unopposed

PETALING JAYA: PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang (pic) and his deputy Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man have retained their party posts unopposed.

Abdul Hadi and Tuan Ibrahim were unopposed when nominations closed on Monday, the party said in a statement on its website Tuesday.

The party elections will be held at the PAS muktamar in Alor Star from April 29 to May 1.

Five candidates are vying for the three vice-president posts.

Among them are two new candidates – current secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan and information chief Nasarudin Hassan.

The three candidates defending their vice-president posts are Idris Ahmad, Nik Mohamad Amar Nik Abdullah and Iskandar Samad.

Forty people have been nominated for seats in the party’s central committee.-thestar
