Bangkok Floods: Catfish Caper At Police Headquarters

BANGKOK: Amid concerns about flash-flooding that hit the capital on Saturday morning, the mood has been lightened by some photographs of a policeman trying to catch catfish in the floodwaters.

The photos were posted on the @Fm91 Trafficpro Facebook page in the afternoon and immediately went viral on social media.

They show a policeman from the Special Branch Bureau, which is in charge of security at Royal Thai Police Headquarters on Rama I Road, trying to catch the fish. “You should see for yourself how hard the rain fell.

Even fish from the drainage pipes enjoyed swimming in the rain at Royal Thai Police headquarters,” the post said.

Heavy rains lashed Bangkok from about midnight on Friday and continued into the early hours of Saturday, leading to flooding on many Bangkok roads.

Fm91 Trafficpro is a radio station run by Royal Thai Police to report on traffic and safety issues reported by The Nation/Asia News Network.
