See What These American Kids Think Of Nasi Lemak And Roti Canai

While nasi lemak and roti canai are our breakfast staples, ever wondered what American kids think of them?

Social experiment channel on YouTube HiHo Kids in one of its ‘Kids Try’ episodes recently got a few American kids to try our famous dishes.

Looking at the plate of nasi lemak, the kids had different opinions – some have never seen anchovies before, while another gagged at sight of the spicy sambal.

One girl named Crystal says she would eat the meal for breakfast, only if it was not spicy though.

When they moved on to their next meal, roti canai, which was deemed as ‘lunch’ in Malaysia (when in fact we can have it all day long), the kids seem to collectively love the flat bread on their plates.

They then tried laksa which Crystal, who loved noodles, praised its “delicious broth”, before they wrapped up with apam balik for dessert.

“This is so good!,” another little girl stopped in her tracks to express.

It’s lovely seeing the kids being open to try our delicacies, and the video posted two weeks ago garnered close to 4,000 shares and over 400,000 views at the time of writing.

“Love the kids and love the exposure given to us Malaysia!,” user Shee Ching said.

Previously, the kids had also tried Ethiopian food, and last week, they had Greek food.
