Hafizh stays in the points in Argentina

KUALA LUMPUR: Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah continued to put valuable points in the bag after notching a respectable sixth in Moto2 at the Argentina Motorcycle Grand Prix today.

The Petronas Raceline rider crossed the line at the Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit in 41 minutes and 15.290 seconds, 17.484s behind race winner Johan Zarco (Ajo Motorsport) of France.

Englishman Sam Lowes (Federal Oil Gresini) and German Jonas Folger (Dynavolt Intact) were second and third, 1.347s and 2.754s off the pace.

Hafizh, who came in fourth at the season opening Qatar GP last month, started from a lowly 12th on the grid after being hampered by traffic in the qualifying round.

Spaniard Efren Vasquez, who rides for JPMoto Malaysia, was lapped and came in second last in 26th.

The next round of the championships will be held in the United States at the Circuit of the Americas on April 8-10.
