Aerotrain services at KLIA restored

PETALING JAYA: Both aerotrains at the KL International Airport (KLIA) are up and running.

“Good morning! We are pleased to share that both our Aerotrains in KLIA are back on track and have resumed operations as per the normal schedule,” said Malaysia Airport Holding Berhad (MAHB) in a Facebook post on Saturday morning, adding that bussing services were also on standby.

The aerotrains at KLIA had stopped functioning early Friday, causing chaos as a large crowd of passengers were stranded at the main terminal of the airport.

MAHB explained in a tweet that the trains were undergoing corrective maintenance.

Bussing services and transport vehicles were later provided to ferry passengers to their respective terminals.

One of the aerotrains began working again several hours later, but the bus services were still operating as of midnight.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said on Friday that he wants a quick report on the aerotrain breakdown, adding that this was the second such incident after services were disrupted last December.-thestar
