YAN: Four evacuation centres have been opened since last night for 166 flood victims from 42 families in four villages here.

District police chief DSP Muhamad Halim Yatim said based on information obtained from the Social Welfare Department, the centres are Surau Teroi Bukit, Masjid Titi Teras, Surau Nurul Huda in Guar Chempedak and Surau Kampung Lubuk Boi.

“One hundred people from 25 families are staying at Surau Teroi Bukit which was opened at 9.30pm, while 38 people from 12 families are at Masjid Titi Teras, which was opened at 10pm.

“Ten people from two families are staying at Surau Nurul Huda Batu 18 1/2 which started operating at 9pm, while 18 people from three families are at Surau Kg Lubuk Boi, which was opened at 10pm. — Bernama
