KOTA KINABALU: Two siblings perished in a fire at their house in Keningau around 1am today.

The victims, both girls, have been identified as Vanessa Sim Suk Ling, 15, and Jaslina Sim Suk Fah, 12.

Firefighters found their charred remains trapped inside the house at Batu 27, Jalan Keningau-Tenom.

A state Fire and Rescue Department statement here said 11 personnel in two fire trucks and one utility vehicle arrived at the scene about seven minutes after a distress call at 1.13am.

However, almost 100 per cent of the house was destroyed.

Police have sent the remains to Keningau Hospital. BERNAMA
