Najib, Hadi to share stage and address Rohingya issue this Sunday

KUALA LUMPUR: History will be made this Sunday, when Datuk Seri Najib Razak shares the stage with Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang in a mass gathering to voice out the rakyat’s firm stance against the cruelty, brutality and oppression of the Rohingya in Myanmar.

Umno president Najib said the agreement with the Pas president was done in the name of unity of all Muslims, to set aside all differences for the greater good.

“Umno would like to express its deepest sympathy and strongly condemn all acts of cruelty, brutality and oppression towards our Muslim brothers, the Rohingyas in Myanmar.

“To this end, the Umno-led government will do its best to ensure the relevant quarters stop this atrocity.

As a matter of fact, this Sunday, in representing Umno, I will attend a large-scale gathering with the Pas president and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to state our firm stance.

“History has taught us enough. Muslims have time and again collapsed and become paralysed only because of betrayal and hostility,” he said in his policy speech at the Umno general assembly here today.-nst
