No price increase for PR1MA homes, pledges Najib

SUNGAI PETANI: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today gave his assurance that the price of PR1MA homes will not increase despite the move to increase household monthly income eligibility from RM10,000 to RM15,000.

Najib said the PR1MA homes would remain at least 20 per cent below the open market value, in line with the government’s policy to provide ownership opportunities for the middle-income group.

He cited PR1MA as an example of government’s initiative to create direct wealth for the rakyat through quality home ownership at an affordable price.

“For example, the PR1MA house that I visited just now is being sold at RM270,000, compared to a house, which is almost identical, being sold at RM470,000 by a private developer.”

“This shows that through PR1MA, the government is helping the rakyat create wealth through ownership of quality and bigger properties at an affordable price,” Najib said in a press conference at the first PR1MA community meet & greet session in Sungai Petani today.-nst
