MEMORANDUM URGING ANWAR TO STEP DOWN

PETALING JAYA, Oct 16 (Bernama) — About 60 members of Parti Keadilan Rakyat”s Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) gathered in front of the party headquarters today to urge PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim step down.

The group, claiming themselves to be from the Penang and Perak PKR, also submitted a memorandum, meant for Anwar, to the Central Election Committee (CEC) member Rauo Imran.

According to the spokesman of the group, Nur Ilmi Ismail, since many reports of his actions were exposed, Anwar should resign as the Opposition leader.

“We do not want a leader who is busy handling his own personal problems. We also hope Anwar will repent to safeguard the image of the party.

“We do not want a leader who hides behind the party to avoid legal action,” he said at the PKR party headquarters.

Nur Ilmi also said that a number of leaders should also resign to save the party that has been bogged by problems.
