IPOH, Jan 24 (Bernama) — Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir today announced that more than 2,000 Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh (MBI) staff will receive bonus payment, for the first time.

All MIB staff, including those employed on contract, would receive RM500 as bonus said Zambry.

“The bonus is an incentive for MBI staff who have shown commitment and dedication to help the council to perform exceptionally well for the past three years.

“Without the dedication and commitment, MBI will not have accumulated surplus funds for the past three years,” he said.

He added that in the past, the MBI had to borrow money from the state government to pay the salary of their workers, but now the situation has changed tremendously because MBI has surplus funds that can last for five months.
