Nayati’s kidnappers gave him phone to call parents, say police

PETALING JAYA: Nayati Shamelin Moodliar’s kidnappers provided him with a handphone to call his parents after he was released at the Sungei Buloh rest and recreation area.

Kuala Lumpur police chief DCP Datuk Mohmad Salleh said the family paid an undisclosed sum of money to the kidnappers in Cheras on Wednesday.

“The ransom demand was made the same day as the boy was kidnapped. The boy was released this morning.

“A special task force is investigting the kidnapping and those with information should contact us,” he said.

Nayati, who was kidnapped while on his way to the Mont’ Kiara International School on April 27, was released Thursday morning.
