Malaysia hold Phlipppines to scoreless draw in friendly

SHAH ALAM: Malaysia lived dangerously before holding Philippines to a scoreless draw in a friendly match at the Shah Alam Stadium Friday night.

The Harimau Malaya only had themselves to blame as they failed to put the ball in the back of the net with the chances they created against the Azkals, who fielded nine of their Europe-based players.

The Phillippines, who started the match brightly, faltered later and were content to sit back and launch counter-attacks.

The Malaysians showed more urgency in the second half and created more chances but were let down by poor finishing.

However, national coach Datuk K. Rajagopal looked at the positive side of the game and admitted that his side should have won the match.
