A group of journalists from Perak will climb the Rinjani Volcano

IPOH, — A group of journalists from Perak will embark on an expedition to climb the Rinjani Volcano on the island of Lombok, Indonesia from Nov 4-11.

Perak Industry, Investment, Entrepreneur Development, Tourism and Women Affairs Committee chairman Datuk Hamidah Osman said Tourism Perak was the main sponsor for the challenge.

“It is to appreciate the journalists’ contributions to help promote Visit Perak 2012. The group will take along a flag of Perak, the Visit Perak Year logo and distribute pamphlets on the tourism programme in Perak,” she told reporters, here, Monday.

The Rinjani volcano, at a height of 3,726 metres, is one of the most active volcanoes in Southeast Asia.
