TIMELY: 1MBD gives RM100,000 to cover kids’ education expenses
KUALA LUMPUR: THE widow of a police officer killed in the Lahad Datu intrusion yesterday received RM100,000 from 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) to cover the educational expenses of her three children.
Rosiah Dahlan, 52, said she had been worrying about the matter since her husband, ACP Ibrahim Lebar, was killed in the incident earlier this year.
She was especially concerned for her daughter, Amira Shahira 20, who is pursuing her medical degree in Egypt.
“I was afraid Shahira would have to quit her studies and return home as we did not have adequate resources to pay for her studies,” she said yesterday.
Rosiah’s son, Amirul Syafiq, 22, is doing a degree in marketing and business management and her other daughter, Amira Shahida, 17, is to sit the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia examination this year.
Rosiah said she felt relieved after receiving the financial assistance “because now Shahira and her siblings’ education were secure and their future seems just as bright as when their father was alive.”
Rosiah expressed her family’s gratitude for all the support they received during this tough period.
1MDB, via its Yayasan 1MDB, gave RM360,000 worth of education assistance to all 19 children of the seven policemen killed in the Lahad Datu intrusion
