DPM: RM200,000 allocation for education of Siamese community

TUMPAT: Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today announced the allocation of RM200,000 to the Siamese community to help in their education.

Muhyiddin who is also Barisan Nasional (BN) deputy chairman made the announcement after meeting some 2,000 Siamese people at Machimaran Temple in Jubakar here.

He said the Government was giving the allocation to improve the lives of the community especially their children’s education.

“The Government hoped that the money could be used among others for Thai language classes for the Siamese children and also other programmes which benefit the community’s education,” he said in his speech.

He also said the Siamese community in Malaysia including in Kelantan was never left out of the Government despite their small number.

“The Government has never differentiated the people irrespective of whether what races they are. Everyone has the right to the benefits of development carried out by the Government,” he said.
