Travel itinerary leak no worry for Tok Pa

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed (pic) brushed aside worries about his security after hackers revealed his flight details on Twitter and threatened to release more information which they claimed to have taken from the national carrier’s computer system.

The International Trade and Industry Minister did not appear to be a particular target, but was among the passengers whose names were on an itinerary that was leaked in the hacking of the Malaysia Airlines (MAS) website on Monday.

“So far, I do not feel that my security is at any time threatened by the (leak). I leave it to the authorities to take the necessary action,” he said.

The MAS website was hacked by a group calling itself “Cyber Caliphate” which replaced the airline’s website with a photo of a MAS Airbus A380, with the words “404 – Plane Not Found”.

The hackers also posted on their Twitter account (@LizardMafia) an itinerary which included Mustapa’s Jan 26 booking from Subang to Kota Baru on a Firefly flight.

MAS confirmed that their Domain Name System was temporarily compromised with users re-directed to a hacker website, but added that its web servers were intact.

The national airline has reported the matter to CyberSecurity Malaysia and the Transport Ministry and assured its customers and clients that their bookings and user data remained secured.

Yesterday, the hackers tweeted that they would reveal more information which they claimed to have obtained from their MAS hack.

“We’re still organising the @MAS e-mail dump, stay tuned for that,” read the Tweet posted at about 3.30pm yesterday which did not give any further details.-thestar
