GEORGE TOWN: Two Nigerian youths claimed trial in separate magistrate’s courts to 10 counts of misappropriating a total of RM10,000 belonging to a 49-year-old woman.

Yusuf Muhammad Lawal, 19, and Abdul Rahman Muktar, 23, are alleged to have made 10 transactions to withdraw the total amount belonging to Linda Christable Felix at the CIMB bank branch in Prima Tanjung, Jalan Fettes, Tanjung Tokong, between 11.08am and 11.12am on April 9.

The offences under Section 403 of the Penal Code carry a punishment of between six months and five years’ jail, whipping and a fine.

The youths are believed to be students.

Their bail was set at RM6,000 each per charge and in two sureties. They failed to raise bail.
