Police receive 267 reports on PM, Hadi picture stomping

MASJID TANAH: A total of 267 police reports were lodged nationwide as at 8am today against individuals who had stomped on a picture of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said police were initiating action against the four suspects who committed the act during the recent Bersih 4 rally in Kuala Lumpur.

He said while the public were free to disagree with leaders, the act of stepping on the pictures of leaders were unacceptable.

“This act is actually a blessing in disguise. Pas supporters have also become enraged by the act of the Bersih supporters,” he said when opening the Masjid Tanah Umno division meeting, here today.

Present were Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron and Umno executive secretary Datuk Ab Rauf Yusoh who is Masjid Tanah Umno division chief.

Zahid, who is also Home Minister, said police would be taking action against Bersih 4 participants without further warning.

He said while it would be impossible to detain all the participants, the organisers and leaders who took part in illegal rally cannot escape the law.
