Elderly Chiang Mai crash victim doesn’t know others have died

BATU PAHAT: Tan Sien Nian, 36, hoped his father, Tan Yang Soon, 64, could be discharged soon and be home for the funeral of other family members who died in the Chiang Mai crash.

Sien Nian, who owns and manages their own dried beancurd manufacturing company, was emotional as he related the day of the incident, which was relayed to him when he met his father who is still being treated in Chiang Mai.

He said Yang Soon’s left leg was broken in four parts while Yang Soon’s nephew Ker Shin Hui sustained internal, external and facial injuries.

“My father underwent an operation and I hope he can be discharged but if he is not able to come back, then don’t tell him the news until he has fully recovered.

“My father always said his mother (Chee Lan) would live to 100. I am sure he will not be able to take it if he knows the others have also died.”-NST
