PT3 results out today

KUALA LUMPUR: The Form Three Assessment (PT3) examination results will be released nationwide today.

Some 400,000 candidates sat for the examination at 2,667 centres from Oct 12 till Oct 15.

Selangor which is observing a public holiday today after its football team won the Malaysia Cup on Saturday, will also be releasing the results at the same time.

State Education Department director, Zainuren Mohd Nor said parents could still come to the respective schools of their children to collect the results even though it is not a schooling day.

“The offices of the schools involved in the PT3 have been ordered to operate tomorrow while those not will be closed due to the public holiday,” he said adding that the state had the highest number of candidates with 82,160 who sat for the examinations in 329 examination centres.

Johor had the second highest number of candidates with 52,678 (278 centres); followed by Sabah with 41,556 candidates (234 centres); Sarawak with 41,312 candidates; Perak — 40,751 candidates (269 centres); Kedah — 38,903 candidates (224 centres); Kelantan — 33,196 (240 centres); Pahang — 24,783 candidates (215 centres); Penang — 23,927 candidates (136 centres); Kuala Lumpur — 22,261 candidates (103 centres); Terengganu — 21,794 candidates (151 centres); Malacca — 14,460 candidates (83 centres) ; Perlis — 4,326 candidates (31 centres) and Putrajaya — 1,514 candidates (12 centres).

The PT3 examinations started on Oct 12 with the English Language and Mathematics subjects followed by English and Science on the next day.

Candidates sat for Integrated Living Skills (technical skills), Integrated Living Skills (home economics), Integrated Living Skills (agriculture) and Integrated Living Skills (commerce and entrepreneurship); Islamic studies, Arabic, Chinese, Tamil, Punjabi, Iban and Kadazan Languages exams on Oct 15.

This is the second year the PT3 exams were held after it was introduced by then Education Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to replace the Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) exams for Form Three students.-nst
