Penang Puteri Umno lodges MACC report over Taman Manggis land sale

GEORGE TOWN: Penang Puteri Umno lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) today over the contentious Taman Manggis land sale. State Puteri Umno chief Nurul Haida Mahamad, accompanied by several others, went to the MACC office at Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah today to lodge the complaint.

“We want the MACC to investigate the 99-year lease which only began in 2015.

“As far as we know, the state land was acquired by the private owner in 2010. That means they have escaped taxes of all kinds for five years,” she told reporters today.

The 0.46ha Taman Manggis land has been on the spotlight after several quarters had claimed there were purported links to Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s bungalow purchase.

Lim has denied any wrongdoing and has opened up himself for investigation by the authorities.-nst
