PETALING JAYA: Residents at the Metropolitan Square condominium in Damansara Perdana have been evacuated this morning following a bomb threat.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Mohd Sani Harul said the department received a distress call at about 8.30am.

“We found three boxes wrapped in plastics in a condominium unit on the 17th floor. We believe they are stuffed with explosive items.

“All the residents have been evacuated since 9am and police are still monitoring the area,” he said in a statement.

At press time, police and firemen are still on standby at the area. A bomb squad unit has been deployed to the premises.
