KUCHING: PKR Batu Kitang candidate Voon Shiak Ni expressed her disappointment over DAP’s move to contest the seat at the very last minute.

“It was definitely not a wise decision for them to step into the fight but I take it as a challenge in my political career.

The decision not only disappointed us (PKR) but also the supporters and voters,” she told reporters at a press conference here.

“After such long cooperation between PKR and DAP, sadly, we have to face each other in this election,” she added.

Yesterday, DAP decided to field its candidate Abdul Aziz Isa in Batu Kitang after PKR did not stick to the alleged agreement between the opposition allies.

PKR’s insistence to contest in Mulu, Murum, Simanggang, Mambong and Ngemah had angered DAP, and led to the fielding of Aziz at the very last minute. Aziz was initially supposed to contest in a newly delineated seat – Stakan.-nst
