Zahid announces RM400,000 allocation to upgrade Sentul Gurdwara

KUALA LUMPUR: To add to the joyous Vaisakhi celebrations for the Sikh community, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi announced that the Government will be allocating RM400,000 to renovate and upgrade the Gurdwara Sahib building in Sentul.

He conveyed this good news as he took time out from his busy schedule to join the community for a quick breakfast at the Gurdwara Sahib on Thursday.

Malaysian Gurdwaras Council president Jagir Singh said the building, which was erected in 1908, had not been renovated in over 20 years and was in need of upgrades.

Also present to join the community in the celebrations was Batu MP Tian Chua and Sentul OCPD Asst Comm R. Munusamy.-thestar
