Facebook user ‘Ratu Naga’ suspected of uploading photos insulting PM

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission with the cooperation of the police have traced a woman using the Facebook profile of ‘Ratu Naga’ to upload doctored pictures to insult Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Also targeted were the prime minister’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and the Sultan of Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah, MCMC said in a statement Tuesday.

It said in a raid at the premises of the suspect in Jalan Klang Lama here Tuesday morning, several communication tools like handphones and SIM cards were seized to assist investigations.

A statement was also recorded from the suspect.

At the same time, several other individuals who also uploaded the same pictures had been identified and operations were underway to trace them, it added.

MCMC said the investigation was being carried out under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 which provides for a maximum fine of RM50,000 or jail of not more than a year or both, if convicted. – Bernama
