MERSING: Police are looking for a man to assist in the investigation of an incident where he allegedly exposed his private parts at a shop here, two days ago.

Mersing OCPD DSP Cyril Edward Nuing said the man, Azney Amat Shukor, 30, was traced to his last known address in Jalan Enggang, Felda Nitar 1, Mersing.

“Police launched an operation to look for the man after receiving a report on the incident from a woman, in her 20s. The report was lodged on the same day (Feb 17) at the Mersing police station,” he said when contacted on Sunday.

According to the report, the woman who is from Endau, Mersing claimed that the suspect suddenly approached her at the shop at about 9.25pm before opening his trousers and exposing his private parts.

The man later escaped when members of the public gave chase after the woman asked for help.

The case was being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code which provides for a punishment of five years’ jail or a fine or both, upon conviction. – Bernama
