NEW DELHI: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has wrapped up his six-day visit to India.

The Prime Minister, who left the Indian capital late Tuesday night, described his trip as a huge success with US$36bil (RM159.26bil) worth of projects and investments secured.

“Our relations with India are at an all-time high. I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his grand efforts and contributions,” Najib told Malaysian journalists at the Malaysian High Commission here before departing for Kuala Lumpur.

He had earlier officially opened the chancery complex which was completed in 2015 at a cost of RM122mil.

The PM also signed a plaque to commemorate the opening and viewed a scale model of the entire complex which is sprawled over two hectares.

The complex acts as a one-stop centre complete with accommodation facilities for staff of the High Commission.

Built by Dhaya Maju Infrastructure Asia Sdn Bhd, it comprises four blocks which include an office, multipurpose hall, the high commissioner’s residence and a 20-unit apartment for staff.

Also present was the PM’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusoff, Health Minister Datuk Seri S. Subramaniam, Special Envoy to South Asia for Infrastructure Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu, Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Reezal Merican Naina Merican and Malaysian High Commissioner to India Datuk Hidayat Abdul Hamid.

Najib described the High Commission complex as one of the best of Malaysia overseas.-thestar
