While most parts of the world are still adjusting to the glum reality of a certain orange individual taking office as the 45th President of the United States (POTUS), it looks like the 2020 Presidential campaign may take an interesting turn, as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was official filed to contest in the forthcoming election.
NextShark reported that a campaign committee called “Run The Rock 2020,” was established by a man hailing from West Virginia – who hopes to see the professional wrestler-cum-actor seating in the hot seat of the Oval Office.
The man in question, Kenton Tilford, formally filed to draft Johnson as future 46th POTUS with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) last Sunday on July 9, The Hill highlighted, however it remains unclear whether the campaign is officially associated with Johnson.

Despite the uncertainty, some may not find the news shocking as Johnson himself has previously conveyed that there is a possibility that he might run for office in the near future, as reported by GQ.
“I think that it’s a real possibility,” he was quoted saying.
“A year ago, it started coming up more and more. There was a real sense of earnestness, which made me go home and think, ‘Let me really rethink my answer and make sure I am giving an answer that is truthful and also respectful’.”
The father-of-two has also joked about running for president on the season finale of Saturday Night Live – where he stood behind a podium with a sign that reads ‘The Rock Johnson 2020’ – and announced that Tom Hanks will be his running mate.
“It’s just that when it comes to politics, we need more poise and less noise,” the 45-year-old actor said.
“Americans deserve strong, capable leaders. Leaders who care about his country and care about its people.”
Although Johnson did not endorse either candidates in the 2016 US Presidential Election, he has expressed his strong disapproval against Donald Trump’s immigration ban.
