OIC Condemns Suicide Attacks In Kabul And Ghor

JEDDAH: The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the two suicide attacks at mosques in Kabul and Ghor, Afghanistan on Friday killing at least 70 people and injuring many more.

OIC Secretary-General Dr Yousef Al-Othaimeen said he was shocked by the level of cruelty done by the perpetrators of the heinous attacks against innocent people who were gathering in the mosques to pray.

In a statement, he reiterated that the acts of terror surely go against the core values of Islam and humanity.

He offered his deep condolences to the families of the victims, government and people of Afghanistan and prayed for the quick recovery of the injured people, told Bernama.

He further urged the Afghan authorities not to relent in their efforts of fighting terrorism and violent extremism.

A gunman blew himself up in a Shiite Muslim mosque in Kabul, killing at least 40 people while an earlier attack on a Sunni Muslim mosque in Ghor province killed 33 people.
