Najib and Zambry arrives in Medina

MEDINA (Nov 1, 2011): Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak and wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor arrived here last night to perform the haj this weekend.

The aircraft carrying the prime minister and wife landed at the Prince Mohammad International Airport at 9pm Monday night local time (2am Tuesday in Malaysia).

He was greeted on arrival by Medina deputy governor Sulaiman Mohammad Al-Jeraisy and Malaysian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Prof Datuk Syed Omar Al-Saggaf.

Also at the airport were Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom, Tabung Haji chairman Tan Sri Abi Musa Asa’ari and Tabung Haji chief executive officer Datuk Paduka Ismee Ismail.

Najib is also accompanied by his mother Tun Rahah Mohamad Noah, his brother Datuk Mohamed Nazim and Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir.

He is scheduled to pay a visit to the tomb of Prophet Muhammad at the Nabawi Mosque before leaving for Jeddah en route to Mecca to perform the umrah today.

Tomorrow he is scheduled to visit Tabung Haji headquarters here at the Abraj Al-Janadiriah hotel in Mecca and meet Malaysian pilgrims at the hotel.

Najib and wife will perform the wukuf in Arafah on Saturday along with three million Muslims from around the world. – Bernama
